Jingle Cross Weekend Just Days Away

Looks like Iowa City will see some snow today, up to 3", wounder how that will effect conditions this weekend. After today things are dry but stay cold. I've packed just about every item of cycling clothing I have, trunk is full.

I'm going to check out the course on Friday when I get there, then head over to the Comfort Inn to get my race packet and see Horner and Wells who will be there signing stuff.

I'll be staying just out of town at a B&B owned by an previous team mate of mine when I raced for Bike Tech Racing. Others from the team may show up Saturday night, it will be good to see some old friends. I will be filling in for Dawndi Cam, hope to get some good video on Saturday of the Elite race and others.

  1. Jeff - We are getting some snow and south of here it is supposed to snow a couple of inches. But, I don't think it is going to be a problem by race time.
Looks like your 35+ Cat is going to have over 30 racers. The B race is going to have at least 100. That's a lot of X.
I'm thinking the 55+ at Jingle Cross is going to be faster than my 60+ at Nationals

  2. Just guessing from the weather report that lows in the 20s and highs in the 30s means the snow from today Wed will melt during the day Thu but freeze Thu night, same for Fri, which means the dirt will be somewhat moist but not bone dry like we raced on earlier in the Bubba season. Should be nice! We are staying at the Comfort Suites so will probley check out Horner and Wells Fri 7-8pm. Any restaurant recommendations? Bill H, St Louis

  3. Hey Jeff,

Looking forward to Jingle - will see you possibly at the Celebrity signing Friday. Otherwise see you at the races and at the B&B. Tell your friend Bill H. - Brown Bottle in IC is always good.

Good luck to you on your races,

  5. Thanks for the restaurant recommendations. We ended up at the Brown Bottle and thoroughly enjoyed it. That is a nice promenade area.
