Started off great in 3/4 place with Dennis feeling good and strong. Then after about 20 min my asthma starting giving me fits. I have exercise endused asthma and take meds for it, normally I keep it at bay no problem, but today was a different story.
30 min into the race I had to call it quits. Quick short breaths don't work to well when you are racing a bike.
Wish it were different today, but those are the cards I was dealt. Next up Jingle Cross Rock. May get some time to update from the road.
Bad luck. Sometimes things just can't be controled the way we want - or the way we are used to.
ReplyDeleteWhat are your tapper workouts this week?
See you at the Rock
John
Sorry Jeff...
ReplyDeleteThat really sucks....
I know it has to be very frustrating and disappointing to miss out on the excitement and battle of the race, especially after all the hard training you do....
Hey! You want to play some poker?
I've been dealt a few cards myself. :)
Jeff, good to finally meet you in person. That sucks about the race. I have exercise asthma as well, take three hits before the race and three after. Unfortunately, I didn't get to max out my lungs since I broke my chain bout halfway through the race, standing up on the second set of twisties before the uphill straight. ARgh. Frustrating. But looking forward to a fun weekend at Jinglecross, wonder if Tim Johnson or Trebon will be there? Bill H.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comments folks.
ReplyDeleteBill, I was looking for your name in the results, sucks about the chain. See you up north.
John, just cutting back on some of the time, still keeping the intensity high.
ReplyDeleteJeff,
ReplyDeleteI was wondering what happened when you pulled off in front of me. I stuff myself into the ground twice and didn't have a good day either. Good luck in Iowa and have a great time.
Thanks James, look for some photos from the road..
