Temps around here are cooling off, 60's when I wake up climbing to mid to low 80's by later afternoon. With lower temps and a chill in the air one can't help but feel cross racing is about to get started. For me it starts with the Hermann Cross Under the Lights on 9/20, then full steam ahead October 19 for a series of 8 Bubba races topped off with the State Championships. Not sure about Nationals, I've had such bad luck there it will be a call I make a few days before the race.
As I get ready for cross this year I've equipped my self with a new bike, Ridley Cross Wind, new shoes and now tubeless tires thanks to Stans No Tube. http://www.notubes.com/. I've come to realize that I have been running way to high a tire pressure which resulted in experimenting with lower tire pressure.
Not waning the fear of pinch flats and not wanting to spend the money to convert everything over to tubeless, Stans No Tube provided a solution where I can keep my clincher set up converting to a tubeless system allowing me to get down to 28-30psi.
Package arrived the other day and in just an hour or so I converted my tubed tire system to tubeless. A bit messy and lots of steps but after you get the hang of it, it's a snap. Plus there is an instructions video which made things even easier.
Took the bike out today for a test run and it was perfect, no issues and felt great. Check it out if you have not already.
What tires are you running with those?
